No. The Green trade was a steal. They know his 5v5 play has declined massively, and his defensive zone was never good. But a 4th rd pick is hardly a risk for a D who eclipsed 30 points in 9 seasons, and 70 points twice! He has set records and could be an asset on the PP. If Andy Greene fetched a 2nd rd pick, Mike Green was a Bargain!

And AA.... That has yet to be seen. I truly believe that the winner in any trade is the team that landed the single best asset. Unless one of those two 2nd rd selections becomes AA, or better, Edmonton won that trade as well. But that has yet to be seen.

Oilers have a pretty crappy team given all those lottery picks

Green played 2 games and has opted out of return. That’s all they’re getting from him on that trade. I’m not sure how Detroit didn’t come away good on that. He’s a UFA now. As for AA, some remains to be seen but he’s literally been given every chance and Tippett isn’t impressed so far.

We know for sure that Green isn’t playing again on this deal. He opted out and only played 2 games. A 4th round pick for him not doing anything is a pretty good score...

If A.A. isn’t qualified (and wants more than 3 mil) Yzerman just got 2 2nd round picks for a player he wasn’t going to re sign. You don’t think that’s a pretty good return as opposed to just losing the player?

I don’t think red wing fans are in any position to trash talk.

Your team wouldn’t even have a winning season in the AHL.

Mickey Mouse time!!!

Congratulations on the FOURTH overall pick.

How is any of this trash talk? Green played two games, he’s done for the season not coming back. AA just hasn’t panned out at this point. Not sure where you’re coming from

In fairness to AA, Spector is a hack whose sole goal seems to be the stirring up of trouble and complaining about anything he can. Sure, he hasn't yet found a role but it's been less than 10 games on a roster with pretty specific needs for its top-6 and not enough talent in its bottom-6. He may never mesh and, if that comes to pass, I'm sure there'll be some level of regret.

So crappy they finished ahead of the Laffs in the standings. Have fun getting pumped by Columbus in 4 games. Oh wait, Buddy Roberts or whatever the hell his name is will come in and save the day! Another small and soft player, he fits the Laffs MO.

With all due respect, he had just above two full games with McDavid and has now seen two days of practice/scrimmages with Draisaitl; I'd dial back the "getting EVERY opportunity talk"

That's rich coming from a frontrunning Bandwagon Flyers fan whose team hasn't won (frank) all since 1975.

Pretty sure he's just a troll that roams onto every board trying to stir things up and not actually a Flyers fan.

Bandwagon Brucey is a simple minded troll who only started cheering for the Flyers in January. He also has a rather disturbing infatuation with Beavis.

I appreciate the thoughts on the fit. It for sure is a small sample size, but one in which the numbers still needed to be a bit better. With the cap situation, it would be tough even if A.A. agreed to his qualifier. The 2nd round seems to be where scouts do well. It’s a valued pick at draft time, for sure

You have a glossary of nicknames don’t you?

I realized that the first few comments were from people who didn’t read any of the content. Made much more sense once that hit.

This remains to be seen. He could still play. Mind you this trade was made before Covid, so it was a bargain at the time, and still might be if they continue and he is able to contribute.

Sorry. But AA has not had "every opportunity" to succeed in Edmonton. He came in to a new system and struggled to fit. Reminds me of Tatar in Vegas. Now he's had 2 scrimmages with Draisitl before Tippett opted for a different look. What Spector did not report is that Tippett said he would be trying several different combinations and has said he'd like to see what AA looks like playing center. So this is nothing more than Tippett doing exactly what he said he would be doing. He may end up as a bust and a great trade by Yzerman. But it's early. And certainly not fair to say AA has had every opportunity to succeed.

You need to read the article. He isn’t playing. He refused to return to play citing health issues. He literally will not play Any more and is a UFA. Please at least do some reading

Not at all. Yzerman didn’t want to extend him. Got 2 2nd round picks instead of a player walking away for nothing. If he has a huge playoff, maybe. Other than that he wouldn’t be coming back

I disagree, but that’s ok. This opportunity was a huge one. 9 games with CMD is a HUGE opportunity. Tippett states that zen is performed where AA couldn’t. Please read the context. He also said they don’t know where to put AA. That zen is was a better fit. That is fairly clear. I’m fine with disagreement but Tip made it clear that Ennis gave what AA couldn’t
